Who am I to Question the Dancing Nuts?

This work depicts what I heard in my teens and what I have observed in the past forty years. As a teen I would hear most people comment on how all Artists are crazy, and yet as the years moved forward, I began to notice that when I looked out into the World, the majority of everybody and everything went crazy. How unfair to us Artists! I started to feel �normal� and it made me question my own insanity.
Looking at current times, especially the Presidential Elections and the World Stage, has everybody gone insane?
The man with the cell phone for a head represents the idea that maybe we should call ourselves up a few times a week and check in and ask some important questions. The background is a symbol for how life has become so complicated that it�s harder to see the stars in life that are being trampled by the nuts.

Biography: TAWES Dennis Tawes’ Complete Bio Born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1954, Tawes was that kid in the back of the classroom who was always caught drawing and getting into trouble for it, though whenever a teacher needed an illustration for a project, they would always enlist the talents of young Tawes. After leaving high school, Tawes took a job in the art department of the Haydon Burns Library in Jacksonville, where he had the opportunity to create posters, graphics and helped to create a traveling puppet show. In the show he used his writing abilities, his talent for using different voices and, of course, the art of making puppets. By the mid 70’s, Tawes grew restless and decided to explore his talents in Hollywood,...
