Artist's Description
In Millville, NJ there is a gallery called "The Amethyst", where I served as the House Artist for nearly 14 years. It is a unique place with a very unique people coming in and out. It was the place to be every 3rd Friday. Good music, good food and the owner himself, Fred. Fred has very eclectic taste in Art and the furnishings.
When I painted this chair I wanted to capture the fond memories of many conversations with gallery guests as they sat in this chair. It is a place where you got to know the Artist and many Art admirers. When I look at this painting I feel like I have interviewed many interesting people who sat there. If you notice the feet of the chair, they seem to be squirming away from the question. Yet, it is a place of comfort and good times.

In the show he used his writing abilities, his talent for using different voices and, of course, the art of making puppets. By the mid 70’s, Tawes grew restless and decided to explore his talents in Hollywood,...
