Description
I have always been fascinated by the many types of chairs and even the names that they convey, what the chair is used for and the visual that it creates in our minds; a lounge chair, dining room chair, beach chair, barber's chair and just to name a few, "The Lazy-Boy".
I wanted to create a painting of a chair that would pull the viewer in and produce the desire of wanting to sit in this chair. I wanted to design this chair as if it would cuddle you in comfort.
An easy chair may represent comfort or being comfortable or may be telling you to take it easy. I chose the color red to represent dignity, nobility and happiness in a World that glitters with material pleasures.
The apples are a symbol of prosperity, wealth, perfection and beauty, fulfilled goals and desires.
The duck represents your spiritual freedom. They serve as a connection between the spiritual realm and the physical world. Thus, a duck indicates your flexibility and your ability to blend and adapt in various situations.
When people saw this work when it was in an Art Show or in my studio, (it hangs in my living room now). I hear the same comment from these viewers, "I wish that I could sit in that chair".
