Artist's Description
Egg Plant
This whimsical work came about while I was sitting in my Florida room and in front of me was this candle holder minus candle. Many Artist choose to describe their work in technical terms, while I choose to describe my work in the creative processes and using the technical methods to express my idea.
While observing this empty candle holder, in my mind I saw a candle burning brightly to represent gradual and a constant future prosperity, wealth, or happiness. I started to imagine what else could be in this candle holder, hmm? And, after many numerous ideas, finally! An egg, it would fit perfect in the bowl of the candle holder. As I was setting up this still life in my studio, my thoughts started to be entertained with the term, Egg Plant. I now have a title and what does it all mean? The symbol of an egg, what can that mean to us personally? The egg is the symbol of richness, potency, abundance.

In the show he used his writing abilities, his talent for using different voices and, of course, the art of making puppets. By the mid 70’s, Tawes grew restless and decided to explore his talents in Hollywood,...
