"BLIND DATE WITH FISH DINNER", is an expression of the experience of going out on a blind date. I have met people that could not look at this painting because it made them feel scared! I would respond, "You should be scared, it's about �blind dates!".
The background of swirls represents the feelings that one gets in their stomach before meeting their blind date. The mask is our "Social Mask" that we wear when first meeting someone new. The fork and knife with eyes are symbolic of our tools of how we perceive the surface of the person before cutting deeper into who they really are. The bones are a dream that conveys prosperity and investing into this venture. Then, there are the eye�s hiding behind fish bones that are creating a feeling that everyone in the restaurant is watching you.

Biography: TAWES Dennis Tawes’ Complete Bio Born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1954, Tawes was that kid in the back of the classroom who was always caught drawing and getting into trouble for it, though whenever a teacher needed an illustration for a project, they would always enlist the talents of young Tawes. After leaving high school, Tawes took a job in the art department of the Haydon Burns Library in Jacksonville, where he had the opportunity to create posters, graphics and helped to create a traveling puppet show. In the show he used his writing abilities, his talent for using different voices and, of course, the art of making puppets. By the mid 70’s, Tawes grew restless and decided to explore his talents in Hollywood,...
